Ronald Reagan

got an email with a few quotes. True or not they are pretty darn good.

'The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's
just that they know so much that isn't so.'

- Ronald Reagan
'The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the
government and I'm here to help.'

- Ronald Reagan
'Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one
end and no sense of responsibility at the other.'

- Ronald Reagan
'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have
learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.'

- Ronald Reagan

Friendship

Friendship is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior
between two or more beings.
the tendency to desire what is best for the other,
sympathy and empathy,
honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to
speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults
of one's counterpart.

It seems a true friend is sometimes damned if he does and damned if he
dont. Do I speak up and be a friend or keep quiet and be just an
acquaintance.

I offended a brother by speaking up, now I have lost and friend and an
acquaitance.
Lesson learned.

Prayer

In a small Texas town, a new bar/tavern started a building to open up
their business. The local Baptist church started a campaign of petitions
and prayers to block the bar from opening.
Work progressed, however, right up until the week before opening, when a
lightning strike hit the bar and it burned to the ground.
The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the
bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately
responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or
indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all
responsibility or any connection to the building's demise in its reply to
the court.
As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork.
At the hearing he commented, 'I don't know how I'm going to decide this,
but as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in
the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that
doesn't.
